Students showcase consulting work this week

A group of students in Youngstown State University’s Williamson College of Business Administration will showcase their consulting work at an event 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, in the Schwebel’s Café on the first floor of Williamson Hall.

It’s the 10th consecutive semester over the past 5 consecutive years that students have completed consulting work for area small businesses in the form of the development of web sites and social media plans. While the projects were part of the student’s degree coursework, they contributed to the economic development of seven local businesses.

The student projects include a complete website development for Roberto’s Italian Ristorante in downtown Youngstown; Manlio’s Pizza & Italian Eatery in Canfield, Ohio; American Karate Studios in Boardman, Ohio; Amplified Arts in Kent, Ohio; and Lil’ Baby Cakes in Austintown, Ohio. Students completed social media plans for Wagon Trails Animal Park in Vienna, Ohio, and Winston’s Tavern in Austintown, Ohio. Collectively, over the past five years, students’ effort and work through the projects have contributed more than $10,000 worth of services to help the commercial expansion of local businesses.
