Nancy Wagner, associate professor, Nursing, co-authored “Child-Health Nursing: Reviews & Rationales” 3rd edition, published by Pearson, 2012.

Bradley Shellito, associate professor, Geography, presented a paper entitled “Geospatial Technology for Free” at the 2012 Ohio GIS Conference in Columbus.

Stephen Ray Flora, professor, Psychology, and Courtney Allyn Polenick, 2011 MS in YSU’s Applied Behavior Analysis program, published the article “Sensory Integration and Autism: Science or Pseudoscience?” in Skeptic magazine.

Joe Mistovich, chair, Department of Health Professions, co-authored Transition Series: Topics for the Paramedic with Daniel J. Batsie and Daniel J. Limmer. The book is designed to act as a transition guide between the 1998 U.S. Department of Transportation’s Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic National Standard Curriculum and the 2009 Paramedic National EMS Education Standards. Mistovich also co-authored Transition Series: Topics for the Advanced EMT with Daniel J. Limmer. The book provides both an overview of new information contained within the Education Standards at the AEMT level and a source of continuing education for practicing AEMTs.

Zbigniew Piotrowski, professor, Mathematics and Statistics, published a paper, jointly with Russell Waller, titled “Baire and weakly Namioka spaces” in Topology and its Applications.

“Flashed Bowl” by Missy McCormick

Missy McCormick, assistant professor, Art, Ceramics, won an honorable mention with her work entered in the Lillstreet International Perfect Plate exhibition at the Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago. She also had a photo of her piece, Flashed Bowl, published in The Best of 500 Ceramics: Celebrating a Decade in Clay, a definitive collection featuring a decade’s worth of memorable ceramic pieces.

Dragana Crnjak, assistant professor, Art, was chosen as a top 10 finalist for the newest architectural project by acclaimed Spanish architect Carme Pinos based in Guadalajara, Mexico. Her proposal Spaces was exhibited at the CUBE Cultura Award 2012 at the show Premio Cube, at the Curro & Poncho Gallery. She also exhibited her work Haze, at the Page Bond Gallery in Richmond, Va.

Joseph D’Uva, assistant professor, Art, and area coordinator, Printmaking, has his print entitled aconcretewaltz into Handmade Prints II: An Exhibition of Artist-Pulled Multiples at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center in Evanston, Ill. His print entitled anemblematicescape (with custom interior) was accepted into Ohio + Five at the Dairy Barn Art Center in Athens, Ohio. His print entitled thinkhappythoughts was accepted into Hate Breeders, a traveling exhibition stopping at the Saltgrass Printmakers Gallery, Salt Lake City; Highlands University, Las Vegas, NM; and Bliss Hall Gallery, YSU. And finally, D’Uva’s print entitled astoryofohio: King Louis Devouring Bolt will be circling the country as part of the travelling exhibition, East|West, A Survey of Contemporary Printmaking .
