Campus hosts “End of Life” conference

Sponsored by YSU’s Gerontology Programs and Crossroads Hospice Charitable Foundation, the conference in YSU’s Williamson Hall is designed for social workers, counselors, nurses, nursing home administrators, clergy and other professionals interested in learning more about end-of-life issues.

Four continuing-education units are available. The cost is $20 for registrations before Sept. 19, and $35 for after Sept. 19. Student fee is $10. Van Dussen, professor of Gerontology at YSU, will give the keynote address titled “The Appropriateness of Hospice Care.” Other topics include “Using the Care Team as a GPS,” “The Road Ahead: Every Journey is Different” and “The Ultimate Destination: What to Say When You Don’t Know What to Say?”
