WCBA Dare to Care day set for April 20

The Center for Nonprofit Leadership at Youngstown State University announces a Williamson College of Business Administration “Dare to Care” Community Day for faculty, staff and students on Friday, April 20.

WCBA has partnered with the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp. to offer WCBA students, faculty and staff the opportunity to make a difference in the community.

The event will take place 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 20. Activities may include painting, boarding homes, cleaning vacant properties and/or tending to community gardens. All work will be done in the Idora Park neighborhood.

Volunteers are asked to meet at the Youngstown Playhouse (600 Playhouse Drive, off of Glenwood Avenue), and will be directed to projects in the neighborhood.

The project is designed to engage YSU business and nonprofit leadership students in professional development opportunities with the nonprofit community. It also fulfills WCBA’s mission to prepare undergraduate and graduate students for productive and fulfilling careers as leaders in business, government, nonprofit organizations and society.

The Center for Nonprofit Leadership offers a certificate/designation and a minor in Nonprofit Management and Leadership, which can be combined with any major on campus.
