Wednesday, Sept. 11, 10:10 a.m. The names of law enforcement officers killed during the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, will be read at a ceremony sponsored by the YSU Department of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences. The event will be on the second floor of Cushwa Hall, outside the department offices and near a display case containing evidence and remains from the World Trade Centers in New York destroyed during the attack.
Wednesday, Sept. 11, 12:15 p.m. A free Music at Noon concert featuring the New Amici Trio will be performed in the Butler Institute of American Art.
Wednesday, Sept. 11, 6 p.m. Robert Morris University takes on the Penguins in a soccer match at Farmers National Bank Field. The team then plays Ohio at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, also at Farmers National Bank Field.

Thursday, Sept. 12, 12:15 Opening ceremony for the 2013 Hispanic Heritage Celebration will be in the rotunda of the Mahoning County Courthouse in downtown Youngstown. The event features the annual flag ceremony, representing 22 Hispanic countries as well as musical performances. Sylvia J. Imler, interim director of YSU’s Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, will make opening remarks. Frank Nolasco will provide the keynote address. Thursday, Sept. 12, 6 p.m. Opening reception for “Graphic Advocacy: International Posters for the Digital Age 2001-2012,” a new exhibit at the McDonough Museum of Art at YSU. The exhibition will be on display through Nov. 8. Organizing curator Elizabeth Resnick will speak about the exhibit at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, followed by the opening reception.
