“Present the Best Professional You,” a program to help Youngstown State University students prepare for career fairs and job interviews, will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, March 2, in the Ohio Room of Kilcawley Center on the YSU campus.
The event, held in advance of YSU’s All Majors Career Fair on March 31, will include advice from hiring employers on what to expect and how to prepare for career fairs and job interviews. Offering advice will be Chris Allen, Human Resources staffing manager at Vallourec Star; Pam Pesa, Human Resource manager at Waffle House; and Erin Ramsey, Human Resources generalist/recruiter from RDX–Remote DBA Experts.
Students also will have the chance to have their resumes professionally reviewed. Participants also will get assistance in choosing outfit from the Professional Attire Clothing store of gently used clothing (one free outfit per student while supplies last). Also on hand will be hair, make-up and color consultants, and assistance in how to learn to tie a tie.
The event is sponsored by YSU Career Services, the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, Fashion and Interior Design Merchandising Program, Student Affairs Leadership Support Association, Students in Fashion and Interior and the YSU Student Government Association.
The March 31 career fair will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Chestnut Room on the YSU campus and will feature more than 100 employers. The fair is open to YSU students and alumni. Participants should bring copies of their resumes and their YSU IDs.
