Nonviolence Week focuses on “No Bullying Allowed”

Sunday, Oct. 5, 3 p.m. 5th Annual Nonviolence Parade and Rally, starts in front of Williamson Hall on Wood Street and proceeds to the Covelli Centre in downtown Youngstown.

Monday, Oct. 6, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. “No Bullying Allowed” @ YSU at McKay Auditorium in Beeghly Hall. Panelists include Thursday Wilson, YSU graduate assistant; Denise Narcisse of Anthropology & Sociology Department; Sylvia J. Imler, interim director of Diversity & Multicultural Affairs; John Beshara, YSU Police Chief; Georgia Reeves, Gully Face representative.

Tuesday, Oct. 7, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. “No Bullying Allowed” BRAVO Workshops in Presidential Suites, Kilcawley Center. Aaron Eckhardt, MSW, Training & Technical Assistance Director.

Wednesday, Oct. 8. Workshops presented by Melinda Wolford in McKay Auditorium, Beeghly Hall: 1:30 p.m., “Bullying Basics-Definitions, Vocabulary, Facts and Background”; 2:20 p.m., “Choosing Action”; 3:05 p.m., “Problem Solving Scenarios.”

Thursday, Oct. 9, 10 a.m., 1 pm. and 5 p.m., in James Gallery, Kilcawley Center. Screening of the movie “Bully, ” a documentary on peer bullying in schools across America.

Friday, Oct. 10, Workshops in Ohio Room, Kilcawley Center.10 a.m., “Bullying Prevention: A Question of Inclusion” presented by Nicole Thomas of Equality Ohio; 11 a.m., “The Rebecca A. Banks Story of Domestic Violence”; 1 p.m., “Promoting Healthy Relationships”; 2 p.m., Phunkuo Defense, Self Defense Class.
