Seniors Steve Mesik (left) and Nate Miller placed first in the state of Ohio in the Cisco Networking Academy NetRiders 2010 Skills Competition for the U.S. and Canada.

Miller of East Palestine and Mesik of Austintown, who are majoring in computer information systems at YSU, then placed 10th out of 45 competing teams from across both countries in the finals of the competition conducted in December.

Cisco Networking Academy NetRiders allows students to showcase their information technology/networking skills and to gain visibility among talent recruiters in the growing networking field. In the competition, teams of two students take a series of online exams and simulation activities. Read more.
