Nearly 750 students from 22 high schools throughout the tri-county region will attend “BUSINESS 2020” 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 10, in the Chestnut Room in Kilcawley Center on the Youngstown State University campus.
The event is conducted by YSU’s Williamson College of Business Administration, in conjunction with the Junior Achievement of the Mahoning Valley.
More than 20 area leaders from various segments of business will offer insight and information during the panel sessions. Some of the participating businesses include: Altronic-Hoerbiger Engine Solutions; Coca-Cola Enterprises; Turning Technologies; Farmers National Bank; Seven Seventeen Credit Union; Farmers Trust Company; Youngstown Business Incubator; YSU Foundation; JFS Wealth Advisors; Hill, Barth & King, LLC; Valley Electrical Consolidated; Vallourec Star; Huntington National Bank; Meridian Healthcare; Mahoning County Convention & Visitors Bureau and JMC Steel Group – Sharon Tube. Panel sessions will run concurrently from 10 a.m. to noon.
The keynote speaker is Melanie Cann, vice president of Human Resources and Business Aviation director for the Cafaro Company. Cann earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an MBA from YSU. She joined the Cafaro Company in 2000 and was promoted from manager to director and later advanced to her current position. She recently served as president of the Warren Junior Women’s League and currently serves as an executive board member for Goodwill Industries.
