The 19th annual Mad About the Arts is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 21, at the McDonough Museum on the campus of Youngstown State University.
The event benefits the McDonough Museum of Art and 88.5, WYSU FM.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. with a presentation of wine craft and connoisseurship hosted by Ed Goist of WYSU. The main event follows at 7 p.m. as guests enjoy the sounds of the YSU Jazz Ensemble II while sampling appetizers, beverages and desserts from a dozen local vendors. At 8:30 p.m., pianist and YSU faculty member Alton Merrell will take the stage with his jazz trio.
On display during the event will be “Uncharted,” the biennial exhibition of current research by Department of Art faculty. The exhibition highlights the works of Claudia Berlinski, Missy McCormick and RJ Thompson, recent additions to the Department of Art faculty.

The cost is $80 per ticket or $65 per ticket for McDonough members, WYSU members, YSU faculty, staff, students and fine arts alumni.
