Internationally-acclaimed tenor and Youngstown native Lawrence Brownlee will conduct a master class 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29 in Bliss Recital Hall on the campus of Youngstown State University.
The master class is free and open to the public.
Brownlee is lauded for the beauty of his voice, his seemingly effortless technical agility, and his dynamic and engaging dramatic skills. He has performed with the Russian National Orchestra in Moscow, the Wolf Trap Opera, the Houston Grand Opera, the Metropolitan Opera, the Wiener Staatsoper, De Nederlandse Opera, the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Staatsoper’s Münchner Opernfestspiele, Opéra National de Paris, the Theater St. Gallen, the Opéra de Lausanne, Barbiere for Seattle Opera, the Canadian Opera Company, Deutsche Staatsoper and La Scala.
Brownlee will appear as Count Almaviva in the Opera Western Reserve production of Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia on Friday, Nov. 30.
