Using everything from cucumbers and Skittles to meatloaf and marshmallows, 16 teams of engineering students designed, assembled and tested “edible cars” as part of a project led by Kerry Meyers, director of the First-Year Engineering Program in the STEM college. The cars were required to be made entirely out of edible food products. Like, maybe Oreos for wheels? The exercise taught team-building, brainstorming, researching, generating solutions, modeling, prototyping – and having fun. Pictured from the left are Matthew Pilch, Brandy Robbins and Cody Barker.
