Hundreds of high school students attend Business 2020 on campus

Nearly 600 students from 18 high schools throughout the tri-county area will participate in BUSINESS 2020 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 6, in the Chestnut Room in Kilcawley Center on the Youngstown State University campus.

The event is sponsored by YSU’s Williamson College of Business Administration, in conjunction with the Junior Achievement of the Mahoning Valley.

Panel sessions will be offered showcasing various aspects of business: Interviewing and Preparing for the Job Market, Careers in Business, Skill Assessment and Major Exploration. More than 20 area leaders from various segments of business will offer insight and information during the concurrent sessions. Some of the participating businesses include: Simon Roofing-Simon Surfaces; Turning Technologies; Farmers National Bank; via680; WKBN/WYTV; Vallourec Star; Coca-Cola Enterprises; Huntington National Bank; Comcast Spotlight; Mahoning County Convention & Visitors Bureau and JMC Steel Group-Sharon Tube. Panel sessions will run concurrently from 10:00 a.m. to noon. YSU President Jim Tressel gives the keynote address. The program begins at 9:15 a.m. with a welcome address from Betty Jo Licata, WCBA dean.
