YSU senior Jill Grove was chosen to be on the Pro Football Hall of Fame Court, and participated in the Enshrinement Ceremonies between July and August.
Jill, an Alliance resident, is majoring in Respiratory Care and minoring in psychology, with the hopes of working in pediatrics or neonatal intensive care units. She has participated in pageants in the past, and decided to enter the 2013 Enshrinement Festival Queen Pageant in Canton this May. Contestants were judged on the basis of personality, poise, beauty, communication skills, academic achievement and service to community.
This summer, she committed to community service projects as part of her court responsibilities, and escorted Hall of Fame inductee Cris Carter to the awards dinner. On Sept. 7, Grove and the rest of the Hall of Fame royalty will convene for their final event: a part in the Hall of Fame’s 50th anniversary. “I felt like a celebrity; it was a life changing experience,” she said.
