The concert at Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown, originally performed live on Wednesday, Dec. 3, can be viewed on YouTube on the Light the Wick YSU channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPSmcPPEDs-YwLMVZDb1AcA. In addition, Armstrong Cable will rebroadcast the concert at various times beginning the week of Dec. 15 on channels 20 and 100. Also, the Business Journal will place the video of the concert on its home page at www.businessjournaldaily.com beginning Friday, Dec. 19. The concert can also be heard via Rookery Radio at www.rookeryradio.com on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. and again on Christmas Day at 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
The concert features selections from Handel’s Messiah and Three Holiday Songs from Home Alone by John Williams, plus other holiday standards performed by Dana ensembles and soloists. Messiah selections were performed by the Dana Symphonic Choir, Stambaugh Chorus and Dana Symphony Orchestra with guest soloists Misook Yun, soprano and Thomas Scurich, bass. The guest high school was the Boardman High School Chorale, directed by Linda Smrek. Also featured in the concert were the Dana Brass Quintet, directed by Stacie Mickens; YSU Jazz Ensemble I, directed by Alton Merrell; and the Dana Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Stephen Gage performed. Soloists included Joseph Kromholz, violin and Cicilia Yudha, piano. Organist Kathy Davison Miller provided an organ postlude on Stambaugh’s E. M. Skinner pipe organ.
