The Youngstown State University Women’s Club will be accepting donations of clothing on Friday, March 8, to raise money for its scholarship fund.
The club will be collecting new and gently used seasonal women’s and men’s clothing, shoes, jewelry, purses and accessories from 9:30 to 11:15 a.m. in the Presidential Suites of Kilcawley Center. The club is working with the Penny Pinchers Nearly New Shop, a consignment in Youngstown. Clothing should be cleaned and on hangers.
Proceeds from the sale of merchandise will benefit the YSU Women’s Club scholarship fund and the Silver Lining Cancer Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients in the Mahoning Valley region.
For more information, or if you would like to volunteer to work the collection site, or transport the clothing to the consignment store, contact Tina Weintz at firstname.lastname@example.org or 330-941-3092.
The purpose of the YSU Women’s Club is to promote the Youngstown State University consciousness, support scholarships for qualifying female students, identify YSU community needs and design programs to meet those needs, cultivate social relations, afford opportunity for intellectual improvement, and identify such other activities as the organization may desire. Additional information regarding the YSU Women’s Club (i.e. membership, scholarship opportunities, etc.) may be found on line at http://www.ysu.edu/womensclub/
After the collection drive, the club will hold its annual spring luncheon, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., also in the presidential suites. The luncheon will feature Premier Designs Jewelry, raffles, door prizes and more, all benefiting the scholarship fund.
The cost of the luncheon is $15. Reservations are due by March 5 to Cindy Korchnak in Room 2101 of the Beeghly College of Education at YSU.
