Youngstown State University will participate in the National Survey of Student Engagement survey on Tuesday, Feb. 19.
The survey focuses on student engagement and high impact educational practices, said Hillary Fuhrman, YSU director of assessment. All first-year and senior students are asked to provide information about their educational and campus experiences.
Fuhrman said student engagement is the single best predictor of student success in college, and data from the survey will provide valuable insight about where the university is best meeting students’ needs as well as where there is room for improvement. In addition, the survey contains a metric of the 2020 YSU Strategic Plan, measuring the university’s progress in the area of student success.
All first-year students (first year on the YSU campus) and senior students are encouraged to participate. Survey participants are eligible to win a drawing for one of 50 $25 MasterCard gift cards. Students should check their email for an invitation and survey link, or go to www.nssesurvey.org to take the survey.
