Tuesday, Sept. 2, 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Open forum for David Starrett of Southeast Missouri State University, for the position of provost/vice president for academic affairs, in the Board of Trustees meeting room on the first floor of Tod Hall.

Wednesday, Sept. 3, 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Open forum for Graham Glynn of Mercy College, for the position of provost/vice president for academic affairs, in the Board of Trustees meeting room on the first floor of Tod Hall.

Wednesday, Sept. 3, 12:15 p.m. YSU’s Dana School of Music presents a free Music at Noon concert in the Butler Institute of American Art featuring the New Music Guild and guest artist Avguste Antonov.

Wednesday, Sept. 3, 7 p.m. “An Evening at the Pops” featuring the YSU Dana School of Music Wind Ensemble will be at the outdoor venue, Harrison Common, on Walnut Street across from the MVR.

Thursday, Sept. 4, 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Open forum for Nathan Ritchey of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, for the position of provost/vice president for academic affairs, in the Board of Trustees meeting room on the first floor of Tod Hall.

Friday, Sept. 5, 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Open forum for Cheryl Torsney of the University of Texas at El Paso, for the position of provost/vice president for academic affairs, in the Board of Trustees meeting room on the first floor of Tod Hall.

Friday, Sept. 5, noon to 2 p.m. YSU President Jim Tressel and YSU deans get doused with ice water as part of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge on the campus core.

Friday, Sept. 5, 7:30 p.m. A Dana School of Music faculty concert featuring Stacie Mickens, horn, and Marissa Knaub, harp, will be in Bliss Hall’s Bliss Recital Hall. Free and open to the public. The program consists of pieces by mostly contemporary composers, including those from Bernard Andrès (b. 1941), and Marcel Tournier (1879-1951). In addition, the Sonata for Horn by Barbara York (b. 1949) and Jazz Set for Solo Horn by Douglas Hill (b. 1946) will be performed. Jan Koetsier’s (1911-2006) Sonate für Horn and Harfe, Op. will also be performed. Parking is available in the Wick Avenue deck for a nominal fee.

Friday, Sept. 5, 6 p.m. Malone takes on YSU’s women’s soccer squad at Farmers National Bank Field. The women also play Purdue at noon Sunday, Sept. 7, also at Farmers National Bank Field.

Saturday, Sept. 6, 4 p.m. YSU opens the 2014 home football schedule vs. Duquense in Stambaugh Stadium.
