Check out what's happening this week at Youngstown State University.Monday, Feb. 25, 7:30 p.m., YSU’s black faculty are recognized as part of the university’s African American History Month celebration. The event is in the Jones Room in Kilcawley Center. Faculty will share their research for feedback and general discussion. Presenters include Frank Akpadock and Victor Wan-Tatah. A book signing will take place at the end of the event.

Tuesday, Feb. 26. The YSU Board of Trustees meets in the Trustees Meeting Room on the first floor of Tod Hall: Noon, lunch and presentation; 1 p.m., Investment Subcommittee; 2 p.m., Audit Subcommittee; 3 p.m., Finance and Facilities Committee; 4 p.m., Executive Committee.

Wednesday, Feb. 27, noon. Dayton takes on YSU in men’s tennis at the Boardman Tennis Center.

Thursday, Feb. 28, 7:05 p.m. The YSU women’s basketball team plays UIC in Beeghly Center. The women also play Wright State in Beeghly 2:05 p.m. Saturday, March 2.

Friday, March 1, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. High school students from throughout Mahoning and Trumbull counties participate in the sixth annual Mahoning Valley Miniature Bridge Building Competition in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center.  More here.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 1, 2 and 3. University Theater presents BROKE-OLOGY, a drama by Nathan Louis Jackson, in Bliss Hall’s Ford Theater. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m., while the Sunday matinee performance is at 3 p.m. More here.

Saturday, March 2, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free tax assistance is offered through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program in Williamson Hall. More here.
