YSU, faculty union reach tentative agreement

The following is a joint news release from YSU and the YSU-Ohio Education Association

Youngstown State University and the YSU-Ohio Education Association, representing university faculty, have reached a tentative agreement on a new three-year contract.

The tentative pact must be ratified by the faculty and by the YSU Board of Trustees. Those votes will be scheduled over the next several weeks.

Negotiating teams met Friday to resolve remaining issues.

YSU President Jim Tressel said he extends his thanks to members of the faculty negotiation team for their diligence in contract talks and their continued commitment to the university.

Interim Provost Teri Riley and Kevin Reynolds, YSU chief human resources officer and the chief negotiator for the university, echoed Tressel’s remarks, thanking the faculty team for its collaboration in reaching a settlement.

Tressel also thanked the administration negotiation team for its hard work and dedication on behalf of the university and its students.
