The Alumni Lecture Series presents “Timely Trends in Education” on Wednesday, May 9 at McKay Auditorium in Beeghly Hall on the campus of Youngstown State University. A networking session will begin at 5:30 p.m. The panel discussion will follow at 6 p.m.
The panel will discuss critical issues in the education field, including bullying, teacher evaluation systems and dual enrollment. Mary Lou DiPillo, interim dean of the YSU Beeghly College of Education, will offer remarks. The panel will be moderated by Rich Crepage, senior director of Outreach and Education, Cleveland Council on World Affairs.
Panelists include Kelly Warga, a counselor who will speak on bullying; Michelle Dotson, principal of Youngstown Early College, and Sharon Schroeder, assistant director of Metro Credit Education Outreach, who will discuss dual enrollment; and Barbara Williams, director of Teaching and Learning at the Mahoning County Educational Service Center, who will speak on teacher evaluation systems.
Hors d’oeuvres will be provided. The cost is $5 for members of the YSU Alumni Society and $7 for non-members. Reservations are required. Students, faculty and staff are welcome.
