YSU advisor earns national recognition

Brenda Crouse, an academic advisor at Youngstown State University, has been recognized nationally as Outstanding Advisor for Sigma Alpha Lambda, a national leadership and honors organization.

Crouse is a professional academic advisor in YSU’s College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and has served eight years as advisor for YSU’s Sigma Alpha Lambda Chapter. She joined YSU in 2000 as an academic advisor in the William Rayen College of Engineering, now known as the College of STEM.

A Cortland resident, she earned three degrees from YSU: an associate in marketing in 1981, a bachelor’s in philosophy and religious studies in 1996 and a Master’s in Education, Counseling, in 2000. She was nominated for the national Sigma Alpha Lambda award by Kara Miller, president of YSU’s student SAL Chapter.
