Game of Hope set for Feb. 2 in Beeghly

The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley presents the 9th Annual Game of Hope Charity Basketball Classic 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, in Beeghly Center on the campus of Youngstown State University.

The game benefits the Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, a non-profit organization that raises funds to benefit chronically/terminally ill children so that they may have the experiences generally afforded healthy children. The event has raised more than $75,000 in its first eight years.

Teams are comprised of elected officials, community leaders and media from the Mahoning Valley area. The event is sponsored by WKBN 27 First News, FOX Youngstown, WYTV, MyYTV, 95.9 KISS, 93.3 “THE WOLF,” News Radio 570 WKBN, UAW Locals 1112 & 1714, the North Eastern Ohio Education Association and Lamar Advertising Co.

Tickets are $6 at the door. Tickets also can be purchased at www.hopemv.org.

The Foundation will honor its 2nd Annual Hall of Fame Class, with new inductees YSU, the YSU Athletics Department and Jim Graham, retired UAW Local 1112 member and leader from General Motors/Lordstown.
