WYSU sets record $115,000 goal for spring drive

WYSU at Youngstown State University.WYSU 88.5 FM at Youngstown State University holds its annual spring pledge drive April 24 through April 27 with a goal of $115,000 – the most ever for a WYSU spring membership drive.

For the third drive in a row, the on-air portion of the membership drive will be just 72 hours long.

Everyone who pledges to WYSU (either as a new member, a renewing member, or with an additional gift) between now and the end of the spring pledge drive will be entered into a drawing to win a pair of tickets on a Go Ahead Tours 11-day tour of Vienna, Budapest and Prague.

Throughout the drive, the station will also be offering Daily Prize Packages, a New Member Prize Package, and a Pennsylvania Member Prize Package. All of the prize packages include a new HD Radio.

Additionally, thanks to support from IDMI.net, all web pledges made to WYSU-FM (through a secure online server at www.wysu.org) will qualify for a partial match.

“One could say that all our funding is driven by our membership support, since this is the key factor that helps determine all other sources of revenue, such as the funds we receive from YSU, our business underwriting partners and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting,” WYSU Director Gary Sexton said. “So, the value of every member pledge, whatever the amount, is greatly multiplied by the way it positively impacts all our other streams of support.”

Contributions to the station can be made by phone at 330-941-1481, or at www.wysu.org.
