WYSU sets $115,000 goal for fall fund drive this week

88.5 WYSU FM, Youngstown State University’s public radio station, holds its annual fall fund drive from Oct. 16 through 19 with a goal of $115,000.

For the fourth drive in a row, the on-air portion of the membership drive will be just 72 hours long.

Everyone who pledges support to WYSU (either as a new member, a renewing member or with an additional gift) by the end of the fall fund drive will be entered into a drawing to win a pair of tickets for the May 2013 WYSU-sponsored Go Ahead Tours 11 day excursion to Ancient Peru and Machu Picchu. Throughout the drive, the station will also be offering daily prize packages, a new member prize package, and a Pennsylvania member prize package.

Additionally, thanks to support from IDMI.net, all web pledges made through a secure on-line server at www.wysu.org will qualify for a partial match. So, giving to WYSU on-line between now and Oct. 19 means the gift will go a little further thanks to this partial match of all web pledges by fund drive sponsor IDMI.net.

WYSU’s bi-annual fund drives are critical to the station’s success, said station director Gary Sexton. “We have so much going on here at WYSU – our excellent local and national programming, the many events we sponsor and support, frequent technology improvements – most recently a new transmitter in Ashtabula – and many other community services offered year round – that I am sure many resonate with you and are worthy of your continued generous support,” he said.
