The Youngstown State University Women’s Club has extended the application deadline to Feb. 22 for the Women’s Club and Schuster Scholarships.
The scholarships, funded by the YSU Foundation, are awarded annually based primarily on academic performance and need. This year, five scholarships will be awarded. Involvement with community organizations, YSU academic activities and a personal essay are also considered.
Through the generosity of the late Dr. Raymond Shuster, three $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually in honor of his wife, Martha, a past YSU Women’s Club president. Academic performance is the primary requirement used in the selection process.
The YSU Women’s Club, founded in 1968, promotes YSU and provides scholarships to YSU students. The club also identifies community needs and the resources to meet those needs by cultivating social relationships and the opportunity for intellectual improvement. The Club is open to all university women including current and retired employees and the wives, widows and female life/domestic partners of current or retired employees/board members. Honorary memberships are provided to current and/or former female YSU Board of Trustees.
Applications are available at the YSU Women’s Club web page under scholarships at http://www.ysu.edu/womensclub/ or http://cfweb.cc.ysu.edu/finaid/sec_scholarships.cfm
