Students in Youngstown State University’s Williamson College of Business Administration will meet with area employers 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, March 28, during the Spring 2014 Internship Interview Day in Williamson Hall.
Both regional and local employers will have the opportunity to schedule interviews with business students majoring in accounting, advertising/public relations, business administration, business economics, finance, human resource management, international business, management information systems, and marketing as well as those pursuing certificates in nonprofit leadership, enterprise resource planning and entrepreneurship.
Employers will benefit by identifying highly, motivated, qualified potential employees; by providing extra staff assistance during crunch periods; and by obtaining assistance to complete special projects throughout the year.
More than 43 percent of WCBA graduates complete an internship through the assistance of the Professional Practice Internship Program, located in the Office of Undergraduate Student Services. The internships are often short-term, project-specific work opportunities that allow students to earn college credits toward graduation. Students gain “hands-on career experience” in their major areas of study, which enhances their professional resume and makes them more marketable.
Participating organizations have included public accounting firms, state, local and federal government, Fortune 500 corporations, public relations agencies and marketing firms, banks and financial institutions, brokerage firms and investment groups, manufacturing companies, consulting firms, non-profit organizations and retail establishments.
Companies and organizations interested in participating in the Internship Interview Day must register by Monday, March 3, at www.ysu.edu/wcba.To learn more about internship and cooperative education opportunities, contact Gwenn Clark, Coordinator of Professional Practice Internship Program, at 330-941-1405.
