Comedy, opera, comic drama, dance and a musical highlight University Theater’s 2012-13 season, which opens on Thursday, Sept. 6 with the student-directed BLACKBOX production “Dark Matters” in Spotlight Arena Theater on the campus of Youngstown State University.
This season marks the 49th consecutive year of University Theater’s existence as a co-curricular theater producing agency on the YSU campus. YSU is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Theatre.
Season subscriptions for 2012-13 are $40 for adults and are available by calling the University Theater Box Office at 330-941-3105 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. A season subscription represents a $30 savings over the per-show individual ticket price. Discounts are also available for members of the YSU Alumni Society, Penguin Club and Regional Chamber; YSU faculty and staff and retirees; and non-YSU students. Most University Theater performances are free for YSU students.
“Our season subscription is one of the best entertainment values in the area with five plays, a musical, a dance concert, and an opera all for under $50,” said Dr. Scott Irelan, chair of the Department of Theater and Dance.
