“Uncharted,” an exhibition highlighting the work of three new faculty members of the Department of Art at Youngstown State University, opens with a reception at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, in the McDonough Museum of Art on the YSU campus.
The exhibit, which runs through March 7, features works by Claudia Berlinski, Missy McCormick and R.J. Thompson.
Berlinski, who earned a master’s of Fine Arts degree from Ohio State University, teaches drawing and 2-D foundations. McCormick, who earned her MFA from the University of Florida, teaches ceramics. Thompson, who earned his MFA from Savannah College of Art and Design, teaches graphic and interactive design.
In conjunction with the exhibit, several artists will present talks:
- Wednesday, Feb. 5, 3 p.m., Robert Raack.
- Thursday, Feb. 6, noon, Claudia Berlinski and Chris McCullough.
- Wednesday, Feb. 12, 11 a.m., R.J. Thompson.
- Wednesday, Feb. 19, 5 p.m., Missy McCormick and Stephen Chalmers.
- Tuesday, Feb. 25, 11 a.m., Dana Sperry, Joseph D’Uva and Joy Christiansen Erb.
- Wednesday, Feb. 26, 3 p.m., Dragana Crnjak.
