Monday – 3 p.m. Bliss Hall, Composition Seminar, “The Music of Jerry Ascione,” by guest composer Jerry Ascione; 5:10 p.m. Bliss Hall, Room 3150, “The Los Angeles New Music Scene,” by guest composer Kathy Henkel; 8 p.m. Wind Ensemble, Dana Chorale and University Chorus at Stambaugh Auditorium with guest composer Jerry Ascione.

Tuesday – 3 p.m. Bliss Hall, Room 3150, “The Los Angeles New Music Scene,” by guest composer Kathy Henkel.

Wednesday – 12:15 p.m. Chamber Music Recital, Dana Composers Ensemble, in the Butler Institute of American Art, with guest composer Kathy Henkel; 8 p.m. Gala Festival Concert with Composers Ensemble and the Festival Chamber Orchestra at St. Columba Cathedral, with guest composer Kathy Henkel and guest artist Kirk Kupensky, harp.

Wednesday, May 2, 2 p.m. “Social Media 101” presented in the Presidential Suites of Kilcawley Center for YSU faculty/staff. More here.

Wednesday, May 2, 3 p.m. Pittsburgh plays YSU at Eastwood Field in baseball.

Thursday, May 3, 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. YSU hosts Robert Morris in a softball doubleheader at McCune Park in Canfield.

Thursday, May 3, 7 p.m. A May Day 2012 outdoor concert, featuring singer/songwriter Andy Grammer, is set for on the YSU campus. More at http://www.ysunews.com/may-day-outdoor-concert-set-for-this-week/.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 3, 4 and 5,  7:30 p.m. The YSU Dance Ensemble presents its annual spring concert in Bliss Hall’s Ford Theater on the YSU campus. Friday, May 4, 6:30 p.m. Glorianne Leck, retired professor, and Charles McBriarty, retired dean and vice president of Student Affairs, receive the Heritage Award at the 31st annual Faculty and Staff Awards Dinner in Kilcawley Center. Also honored at the dinner are recipients of Administrative and Classified Distinguished Service Awards and faculty, administrative and classified employees who are retiring or have reached milestone years of service.
