Monday, Sept. 21, 11 a.m. Edris Montalvo, associate professor of Geography at Cameron University in Lawton, Okla., will give a talk entitled, “What Does It Mean To Be Hispanic Anyway? Why Who We Are Matters,” in the Jones Room of Kilcawley Center.

Monday, Sept. 21, 7:30 p.m. Faculty Artist Recital featuring Brian Kiser, tuba, and Jack Ciarniello, piano, in Bliss Recital Hall.

Tuesday, Sept. 22, 7:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Manufacturers, educators, students, government officials and corporate representatives will attend the “Rebuilding America: North Eastern Ohio/ Western Pennsylvania Advanced Manufacturing Career Pathways Summit” in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center.

Wednesday, Sept. 23, 12:15 p.m. Free Music at Noon concert featuring the Dana School of Music’s Voice Department in the Butler Institute of American Art.

Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1 to 4 p.m. The YSU Williamson College of Business Administration hosts the semi-annual WCBA Meet the Employers Day in the atrium of Williamson Hall on the YSU campus. Meet the Employers Day is free of charge. For more information, call 330-941-3660.

Wednesday, Sept. 23, 7 p.m. “Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials Associated with Unconventional Drilling for Shale Gas,” a lecture by Andrew Nelson, candidate Presidential Graduate Research Fellow Human Toxicology, University of Iowa, will be presented in Cushwa Hall Room B100. The free lecture is part of the Speaker Series on Energy and the Environment.

Thursday, Sept. 24. The YSU Board of Trustees meets on the following schedule in the Trustees Meeting Room on the first floor of Tod Hall: 2:30 p.m., Academic Quality and Student Success Committee; 2:40 p.m., Finance and Facilities Committee; 3 p.m., quarterly regular meeting of the Board of Trustees.

The screening will be accompanied by a discussion by the film’s producer/director, Michael DiLauro. The Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor is located at 151 W. Friday, Sept. 25, 1 p.m. Guest Artist Clinic and Concert featuring Russ Nolan, Jazz and Latin saxophonist in Bliss Hall, Room 2222.

Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25 and 26, 8 p.m. Ward Beecher Planetarium at YSU presents “Exploring New Horizons.” The planetarium also shows “Secret of the Cardboard Rocket” 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26.

Saturday, Sept. 26, 7 p.m. Valparaiso visits campus to play the Penguin soccer squad at Farmers National Bank Field.

Sunday, Sept. 27, 6:30 p.m. YSU’s Dana School of Music hosts the inaugural “Dana’s Got Talent” voice scholarship competition in St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Avenue. The event is free.
