Thursday, Nov. 12, 11 a.m. “Financial Planning for College in These Challenging Times” is the title of a free seminar in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center on campus. The seminar, which is open to the public, features David Anderson, founder of Empowerment Radio Network LLC. YSU also will host a free and public screening of the movie “Generation ONE: The Search for Black Wealth,” at 7 p.m. that same evening, followed by a Q&A session with Anderson. The event will also be in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center.
Thursday, Nov. 12, 11:30 a.m. The 2015 Youngstown State University Research Awards Luncheon is in the Ohio Room of Kilcawley Center. Guest speaker is Dr. Robert J. “Joe” Shaw, deputy director of the Office of Technology Partnerships and Planning at the NASA Glenn Research Center.
Thursday, Nov. 12, 7 p.m. Thomas Linzey, executive director of the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund, lectures in Room B100 of Cushwa Hall on campus. The lecture, free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Dr. James Dale Ethics Center and is part of the YSU Speaker Series on Energy and the Environment. While many of the presenters in the Speaker Series have appeared via Skype, Linzey will be on campus and lecture in person.
Friday, Nov. 13, 7 p.m. The Penguin women’s hoops team plays Canisius at Beeghly Center as the 2014-15 basketball season tips off.
