Spring is in the air as both the Penguins' softball and baseball teams open their home seasons. The softball squad opens with a three-game series against Valparaiso at the softball field on campus at 3 p.m. Friday and a noon/2 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 24, 25 and 26. The Penguins’ baseball home schedule opens with a three-game set against Milwaukee at Eastwood Field. Games are 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday.

Monday, March 21, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. As part of Women’s Health Week on campus, free massage therapy will be available in the Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center. Free 10-minute relaxation chair massage. Sign up early at the meditation studio on the day of the event. Registration will be available at 10 a.m. Number of sessions is limited.

Monday, March 21, 4:30 p.m. Angie Zielinski, a cross-disciplinary artist, lectures in the McDonough Museum of Art. Zielinski also presents an exhibit of her work in the Judith Rae Solomon Gallery on the second floor of Bliss Hall. Both the exhibit and the lecture are free and open to the public.

Tuesday, March 22, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. As part of Women’s Health Week on campus, “Dancing Mindfulness” will be presented at the Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center. YSU ID required.

Wednesday, March 23, 12:15 p.m. The YSU Dana School of Music’s Early Music Ensemble presents a free Music at Noon concert in the Butler Institute of American Art.

Wednesday, March 23, 7 p.m. Tony Ingraffea of Cornell University presents “The Science of Shale Gas/Oil: The Latest Evidence on Methane Emissions and Implications for Energy Policy,” in Cushwa Hall Room B112 as part of the YSU Lecture Series on Energy and the Environment.

Thursday, March 24. YSU’s Williamson College of Business Administration and College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics host a breakfast in Williamson Hall for area employers to learn more about student internship opportunities at YSU. The breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m. with the program beginning at 8 a.m. The breakfast will feature a presentation of the Northeast Ohio Council of Higher Education’s “Return on Intern” program. Friday, March 25, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. YSU Student Government Association hosts Mental Health Advocacy and Training Day in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center. The event features a keynote address by Paul and Darcy Granello, suicide prevention researchers who are on the Counseling Education faculty at Ohio State University. The Granellos speak at 1 p.m.

Friday, March 25, Noon to 12:50 p.m. “Feminisim 101,” an interactive lecture, will be held in the Ohio Room of Kilcawley Center as part of YSU’s Women’s History Month.
