Check out what's happening this week at Youngstown State University.Monday, Jan. 25, 6 p.m. YSU holds its inaugural “White Coat Ceremony” for nurses in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center on campus. During the ceremony, YSU will cloak 112 sophomore nursing students with white coats and pins from the Arnold P. Gold Foundation representing humanism and excellence.

Wednesday, Jan. 27, 12:15 p.m. The YSU Dana School of Music’s String department presents a free Music at Noon concert in the Butler Institute of American Art.

Wednesday, Jan. 27, 6:30 p.m. Prospective students and their parents can learn the ins and outs of financial aid at YSU’s Financial Aid Night in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center on the YSU campus. For more information or to register, visit this site or call 330-941-3505.

Wednesday, Jan. 27, 7 p.m. The YSU Lecture Series on Energy and the Environment presents Patricia DeMarco, Carnegie Mellon University, Pathway to a Sustainable Future, in Cushwa Hall Room B112. Free.

Thursday, Jan. 28, 7 p.m. The Penguin women’s basketball team takes on Wright State in Beeghly Center. The women also play 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, in Beeghly against Northern Kentucky.

Friday, Jan. 29, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Business students in YSU’s Williamson College of Business Administration attend the semi-annual Professional Development Summit in Williamson Hall.

Friday and Saturday, Jan. 29 and 30, 8 p.m. Ward Beecher Planetarium at YSU presents “Winter Skywatch.” The planetarium also shows “This is Our Sky” at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30. Free.

Saturday, Jan. 30, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Williamson College of Business Administration hosts a showcase for prospective students in Williamson Hall on campus. Make a reservation.
