A photographic journey

Taylor Amato, a freshman accounting student at YSU, visits an exhibit of immigrant women art for a YSU Women's History Month event.Taylor Amato, a freshman accounting student, visits “Women of the World: A Photographic Journey of New Americans in the Mahoning Valley” on display on the fifth floor of Maag Library through the end of March.

The exhibit features photos by award-winning photographer and filmmaker Maria Bleahu of immigrant women from across the globe – China, Ethiopia, France, India, Lebanon, Malaysia, Peru, Russia, Vietnam and more – who have settled in this region.

The exhibit also includes a video presentation with excerpts from interviews with the women. Rosemary D’Apolito, associate professor of Sociology, Anthropology and Gerontology, conducted the interviews.
