Youngstown State University’s Department of Human Ecology will be hosting a panel discussion on obesity 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, in Room 3112 of Cushwa Hall on the YSU campus.
Human ecology seniors will conduct the panel and speak on the rise of obesity as a worldwide concern. Topics include the major causes, consequences and possible solutions of obesity, with the goal of increasing awareness and education on what can be done to help fight the problem.
Following the panel presentation, the audience will be able to participate in the discussion. The event is open to the public.
Student panelists include: Grace Cornell, a family and consumer sciences education major; Andrea Verde and Jack Wilkins, dietetics students; and Michael Crawford, a hospitality management major.
These students, as well as other human ecology seniors, will be hosting a series of panel discussions like this one throughout the rest of the spring semester. Future presentations will center on human trafficking, Internet privacy, child abuse prevention and more.
