“Calculus: The Musical,” a comic and musical review of about the history and development of calculus, will be performed as part of Youngstown State University’s annual MathFest on Oct. 18 in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center.
About 400 students and teachers from high schools throughout the region will attend MathFest, which includes a variety of math-related workshops and contests. The event is coordinated by Angela Spalsbury, YSU associate professor of Mathematics and Statistics.
This year, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the event, “Calculus: The Musical” will be performed at 1 p.m. For more information on the show, visit the Math Theatre website.
MathFest is free and open to the public and is jointly sponsored by the YSU Student Government Association, College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, and the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.
