Ohio Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor was on campus last week to tour the YSU Veterans Resource Center and to meet with staff and students. Here, Taylor – holding a Pete the Penguin t-shirt, is pictured with, from the left, students Nick Heiss, Raelynn Burns and Jenne Battaglia, and President Jim Tressel. Last fall, YSU cut the ribbon for the new, $1.3 million Center, which is designed to expand and enhance services for military veterans and active military making the transition to student life at YSU. The building on Wick Avenue is being paid for entirely by private donations. YSU is the only university in Ohio with a building solely dedicated for the use of its military and veteran students.
