Guest guitarist visits campus April 10

Guest artist guitarist Johannes Möller, 2010 winner of the Guitar Foundation of America International Guitar Competition, performs 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 10 in Bliss Recital Hall on the campus of Youngstown State University.

Möller has captivated audiences throughout the world with charismatic and soulful performances. After playing his first public concerts at the age of 13, his performances now total more 500 and span Europe, Asia, South and North America. In 2010 he was awarded first prize in the GFA Concert Artist Competition, considered by many to be the most prestigious guitar competition in the world, resulting in a 50-concert tour and a recording with the Naxos label.

Johannes earned a bachelor’s degree in music from the Royal College of Music in London and a master’s degree from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague

This is the fifth year that Francois Fowler, associate professor of guitar at the Dana School of Music, has made arrangements to bring the winner of the Guitar Foundation of America International Guitar Competition to YSU.
