The Youngstown Historical Center Archives/Library is hosting the Fall Workshop Series beginning Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor, 151 W. Wood St., in downtown Youngstown.

Saturday, Sept. 15. “The Recipes of Family History,” presented by Martha Pallante, YSU chair and professor of History, explores our family’s roots and story through the recipes that brought family together around the table. Gain insight into the everyday and the special foods that nourish the family and their story.
Saturday, Oct. 20. “Capturing Your Family’s Oral History,” presented by Donna DeBlasio, YSU professor of History, will help participants plan and record oral history stories of family members and friends. Learn how to identify individuals with stories to share, frame questions, guide the conversation, and document your work. Consider how you continue the story, connecting past to future.
Saturday, Nov. 17. “ Your Immigrant Ancestors,” presented by Donna DeBlasio and Martha Pallante of the YSU History department, will look at the ethnic neighborhoods that shaped our community, and continue to do so decades later. How does your story fit into that of the larger community?
