Tiffany Buck didn’t have to meet new co-workers or undergo much training when she started her second job after graduation – she went from a student employee to a full-time university employee, with only a brief stint at SenSource in Austintown in between. A 2007 YSU graduate with a major in accounting, Tiffany worked in Recycling and then in Janitorial Services as a student. Her current position as custodial work supervisor opened in June 2011, and she has been on the second floor of Smith Hall ever since taking over that September.
At least Smith Hall is where her office is. She’s rarely there; instead, she’s usually out and about on campus, checking on the contracted cleaning employees, stocking supply closets, and moving laundry from Cushwa to laundry rooms in the stadium. While Tiffany is adamant that she likes her job, the toilets backing up “happens more than you’d like it to.”
When she’s not at work, she’s out four-wheeling at her home in Greenford, or if it’s tax season, she’s helping in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program in the Williamson College of Business Administration. Tiffany grew up in Berlin Center, attending Western Reserve schools.
A staunch supporter of YSU, you’ll find her at Penguins football games and attending alumni events.
