To increase awareness about eating disorders, students in Youngstown State University’s fashion program are presenting “The EveryBODY Fashion Show,” featuring clothing for all body types, at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 9, in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center on the YSU campus.
Admission is free. Doors open at 5 p.m.
The event is sponsored by the Danielle L. Peters Endowment to Promote Awareness of Eating Disorders. A fashion merchandising student at YSU, Peters passed away because of bulimia in summer 2012 at the age of 21, said Priscilla Gitimu, YSU associate professor and coordinator Merchandising: Fashion and Interiors. Gitimu said Peters’ parents attended the fashion show in 2012 and, as a result, started the endowment fund in their daughter’s memory.
