Dana Flute Festival is March 24

Student playing the flute for the Dana Flute Festival at YSU.Youngstown State University’s 19th annual Dana School of Music Flute Festival will be Saturday, March 24, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Bliss Hall.

The event is designed for flute players of all levels and will include workshops, vendor exhibits, guest artist performances, a master class and a closing concert. Participants should bring their own instruments.

Special guest artist Christina Jennings is principal flute with the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra, assistant professor of flute at the University of Colorado at Boulder and on the summer faculty of the Texas Music Festival. Jennings is the winner of numerous competitions including the Concert Artists Guild, Houston Symphony’s Ima Hogg and the National Flute Association Young Artists.

The cost to attend the festival is $16 per student if registered before March 24, and $20 at the door. Parents are welcome to attend free of charge.
