The Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University announces a concert by the Dana Chamber Orchestra 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, in Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Avenue, Youngstown, OH.
The concert will feature classical favorites by Mozart, Mendelssohn and Barber.
“The Chamber Orchestra features many of Dana’s brightest students whose participation in the orchestra is by audition or invitation only,” said Joseph Kromholz, director. “Sometimes the ensemble includes faculty or guest artists, with whom the students work side by side.”
He further noted that the orchestra a quasi-professional group, in the sense that it prepares on an accelerated timeline (rather than all semester), and that it is intended to be partially self-directed – led increasingly by the students, rather than just top-down.
Tickets are only available at the door. The price is $5 for adults and $4 for senior citizens and students. Tickets are free for anyone with a valid YSU ID. For more information, call the Dana School of Music at 330-941-3636.
