Aspiring law student

April Hauser, a YSU Student Success Story, will be the student speaker for the fall 2012 commencement ceremony.

April Hauser

Graduating senior April Hauser is the featured student speaker for fall commencement on Sunday, Dec. 18 in YSU’s Beeghly Center, and her accomplished academic and extracurricular career at YSU make her one of the university’s outstanding Student Success Stories.

Hauser of Andover started her higher education career as a sophomore after having participated in the early college program to earn 45 college credits during high school. She has worked as a lifeguard on campus at Beeghly Natatorium and part-time at an assisted living home in her hometown. Hauser also volunteers at Youngstown Municipal Court as a member of the Veterans Court Team. She credits her experience at YSU with providing her with many opportunities —from learning from many inspiring professors to getting involved with different aspects of student life and, most importantly, providing the stepping stone to further her education.

Hauser will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science this semester. After graduation, she plans to attend law school. She’s already applied to several schools with the intention of pursuing a career in criminal prosecution.
