Monday through Friday, Feb. 16 to 20, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Printmaker Matthew Hopeson-Walker is featured in the next installment of the Red Press Collaborative, a program designed to promote fine art printmaking at YSU and in the Mahoning Valley. The event is in the printmaking studio, Room 4015, Bliss Hall, on the YSU campus. More here.

Tuesday, Feb. 17, 7 p.m. OkakaOpio Dokotum, associate professor of Literature and Film at Kyambogo University, Kampala, Uganda, presents a free lecture titled “Debunking the Myth of Africa, the Dark Continent” in the Ohio Room, Kilcawley Center, on the YSU campus. The lecture is part of YSU’s African American History Month celebration. More here.

Wednesday, Feb. 18, 12:15 p.m. The YSU Dana School of Music Tuba Ensemble is featured in a free Music at Noon concert in the Butler Institute of American Art.

Wednesday, Feb. 18, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Learning how to dress to make a good first impression is the focus of the Dress for Success Program 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, in the atrium of Williamson Hall at YSU. The event is presented by YSU business students and Macy’s department store at Southern Park Mall, which will provide professional clothing, accessories, hairstyling and make-up. More here.

Wednesday, Feb. 18, 4:30 p.m. Tim King, a YSU alum and cultural GIS lead for Gray & Pape Inc., speaks in the Gallery in Kilcawley Center on campus. King will talk about how changing technologies have impacted the way the cultural resources are mapped and managed over time. Free. More here.

Wednesday, Feb. 18, 7 p.m. Dr. Aaron Bernstein, Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard University, presents “Designing Energy Systems For Health,” in Room B112 of Cushwa Hall. The free lecture is part of the YSU Speaker Series on Energy and the Environment. More here.

Thursday, Feb. 19. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2 p.m. Renowned couture fashion designer and YSU alum Angel Rivera gives a presentation in the Presidential Suite of Kilcawley Center on the YSU campus. The event is sponsored by Students in Fashion and Interiors at YSU. More here.

Thursday, Feb. 19, 3:30 to 6 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 21, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free tax preparation through Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program in the Lariccia School of Accounting and Finance at YSU. The sessions will be in computer labs on the first floor of Williamson Hall on the YSU campus. More here.

Thursday, Feb. 19. The YSU STEM College honors outstanding alumni and students at the seventh annual YSU STEM College Awards Dinner in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center. Reception begins at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. and the awards program at 8 p.m. More here.

Friday, Feb. 20, 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. YSU’s Williamson College of Business Administration, in conjunction with the Lariccia School of Accounting and Finance, Beta Alpha Psi, the Institute of Management Accountants, and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants’ Student Ambassador, host the 18th Annual Accounting and Finance Student/Practitioner Day in the WCBA Conference Center in Williamson Hall on the YSU campus. Saturday, Feb. 21, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Middle and high school girls from throughout the region will attend the annual Women in Science and Engineering Career Day in Kilcawley Center at YSU. The workshop is designed to expose young women in grades 6 through 12 to career opportunities in science and technology.
